Mix’t trio performs music from the upcoming CD

Fresh from the ABC studios, Mix’t Trio  performs music from its debut CD bringing together classical, jazz and African music on the 26th April in the sophisticated surrounds of the Bar Orient Hotel in Fremantle.

Mother's Day is the 10th of May, so come and celebrate the special women in your life and be inspired by music from three generations of Australia’s women composers (Margaret Sutherland, Anne Boyd, Elena Kats-Chernin, Cat Hope, Dulcie Holland and Miriam Hyde) performed by three outstanding musicians, Ashley William Smith (clarinet), Irina Vasilieva (piano) and Laura McGrogan (cello).

Hear the triumph and tragedy of some of Australia’s most inventive and overlooked composers. Beauty, power and  talent combine in an exotic Mother’s Day treat you won’t forget.

This one-off spectacular concert is being hosted by SNADENS PIANOS in their iconic showroom on Sunday, 10th May at 3:30pm. Enjoy light refreshments, ask questions, meet new people, and talk directly to the author as the Music Journalist Rosalind Appleby presents the music behind her book 'Women of Note’.

"People have been asking me what sort of music they should expect to hear at Princess Obsession. The song list is magical, and also the performing pianist Irina Vasilieva

It features songs from the animated movies Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid. There are also other songs (what!?!) including "When I Fall in Love", "I'll Be Seeing You", and "I'm Old Fashioned".

There is also a variety of composers including Matthew Robinson, Marvin Hamlisch, and Giacomo Puccini (there's opera? yep!."

Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid are four beautiful heroines, voiced by four extraordinary women, but what do you know about the voices behind the cartoons? Join Emma Marie Davis, a "charming singing storyteller" - Stage Whispers, as she takes a closer look at how each of these women became the voice of a princess.

Join Emma as she takes a look at these extraordinary women's lives both before they became princesses and the steps that led to them being immortalised. Their stories are captivating, heartbreaking, and the things that dreams are made of.

Which princess almost missed her chance until she overheard the right phone conversation? Which princess went on to have a spectacular career in opera? Which princess wasn't even allowed in to the film's premiere?

Featuring music from the animated classics alongside modern day favourites, and pieces from the time of each film, Princess Obsession is a beautiful look at what it takes to be a princess and how sometimes we all need a bit of magic in our lives to have our dreams come true.

Performed by: Emma Marie Davis (vocal), Irina Vasilieva (piano)
